Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 with SP1

Download details: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 + SP1 Redistributable Package: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=EC2CA85D-B255-4425-9E65-1E88A0BDB72A&displaylang=en
  1. Double click the executable you just download, that will start the .Net Framework 3.0 installer. Accept the terms and click 'Next'.

  2. Looks a bit different compared to what I am used to see when an installer starts but the balloon informs me nicely what is going on.

  3. But if you click on the balloon you will see the good old installer screen.

  4. The installer has finished and we need to run Windows Update to see if any updates are missing.

Can I now 'replace' the SharePoint 2.0 site with the newly installed Sharepoint 3.0 site so that it can be accessed using http://companyweb:PORT or even better http://companyweb ?

My reason for asking is that a great feature of 'companyweb' is that I can save files to document libraries by simply using UNC's (ie. \\company\myfiles). Wioth the way SharePoint 3.0 is setup above I can't do that and don't want to start tinkering in case I break something in SBS 2k3 as it and SharePoint 2.0 are tightly integrated.
