I have decided to write this document because more and more "part time" administrators just run the ICW and think that the server is safe, well it is NOT. Opening the SBS 2000 server to the Internet is not a good idea but if you really need OWA for remote users to read and write mail from a location that only offers web browsing then you should follow these steps to secure your server. If you do not feel comfortable doing this kind of work, please find a consultant. A better solution would be to VPN into the server.
