I recently deployed 12 vista business workstations with a sbs 2003 server. (not R2 becuase we reused their software).
 
All was fine. UAC still enabled for rootkit prevention, no local admins, GPO folder redirection for all folders, etc.
 
Yesterday one of the users could not logon to the workstation. Another user tried her account nothing, I had the office manager try the domain admin and nothing. The local admin is disabled I believe with joining to a domain. There are no local user accounts because we join it up during the vista os install.
 
They are 2 hrs away and I'd like to get them somehow into the machine so either I can remotely disjoin the domain and rejoin. Anything that you guys can think of?

Matt,

You could access the server remotely and:

1. Check the server event logs for clues.
2. Try to access the problem PC by Remote Desktop form the server.
3. Try to ping the problem PC from the server.

When you say "could not logon" and "nothing", what are the exact error messages if any?

It says something about computer security - i thought it was a corrupt computer account in AD - another tech did a reset on the computer in AD, then removed and readded the computer account. I don't think it has the link that it needs now to AD to authenticate properly. I wanted to get in and take it off and on the domain but the local admin account is apparently disabled. I either need a way to correct this false security issue or to get into the system to take it off the domain and back on.

Check if the computer is in the proper MyBusiness\Computers\SBS Computers OU. If not, move it to that OU. Check logs.
