We have a user that has an imac running 10.4 using Entourage to connect to SBS 2003 SP2 exchange for email. Been working fine until a month ago when the database on the mac suddenly increased in size. The mac has been rebuilt, as has the database and it was brought down to a more manageable size. However after a while, even though the database hadnt increased the user could not receive any new mail (but could send). Hard disk was replaced and later on this user now has a new imac running 10.5 and office 2008. Database is still fine in size, but again the user now cannot receive. Have checked the users account on the server, checked group policies, check limits on user for send and receive and all seem fine. We are at a loss after a certain period, this user cannot receive any more mail. Is there something we are missing ?
Thanks
Chris

do you receive NDR's?

can you use standard OWA to login to the mailbox and see if that throws up any errors, or if the mail is actually there?

sorry should have mentioned that fact.
User can log into OWA and see all the mail, new and old.

Nothing from them on NDR's though.

How exactly has Entourage been configured?

Pretty much the standard way, setup entourage to talk to the sbs 2003 server using the exchange module in entourage. ip  address for the mail server, verified etc. Thing is the mail box  has been working fine and dandy for ages. All  of  a sudden the user experiences these outages  or non delivery of mail. Once the database has been rebuilt it works fine for a  few days and then stops working again and again.

Since there are a number of ways to configure Entourage to talk with Exchange, I really have no idea what you mean when you sah the "standard way." Please detail the configuration settings you have in place.

Also, have you installed the latest updates to Mac Office and Leopard?
