I'm taking a month off from work to vacation on a quiet sea island in South Carolina!

Being a true geek at heart, I plan to take this opportunity to lean about SBS 2008 during those times I'm not fishing, sunbathing or drinking.

I have a notebook temporarily running a standalone evaluation copy of Windows 2008 as a workstation. I want to use this computer to evaluate and test SBS 2008 RCx for a limited period of time.

How should I install SBS 2008 on this computer using the least amount of effort?

Hyper-V? Virtual Server? VMWare?

I'd like to stick with a MS solution, but actually learning MS virtualization technologies is a lower priority for me now than is learning the ins and outs of SBS 2008.

Willem,

If you are a official beta tester you can ask this question in the private Microsoft newsgroups. There is no way I can answer apart from saying that Windows 2008 x64 runs fine on VMWare workstation with a 64 bit host

Bottom line is that the hardware must be x64 and you need lots and lots of Ram :-)

I've successfully got a host machine running Windows Server 2008 x64 with mulitple Windows Server 20087 x64 using Hyper V. Granted it is the beta for Hyper V, but I find that it works well. Only thing that I see slowing you down, is the Harddisk because it is a notebook.

My setup has a dedicated RAID 5 array for the VMs.
