We have a network share configured on our SBS 2003 machine, which is sharing an external drive for NTbackups. The share has been set to run under the Admin credentials with full control and has been operational for some time. Recently the share stopped allowing read or write access when mapped from other servers. The mapping is still connected and sees the share but it doesn't show any data on the drive? The only way to view the share from another machine is to cancel and then recreate the share on the host system which enables the other PCs to view the contents of the drive and more importantly to write data to it, but this has to be done daily when the external drives are swapped.  We need to be able to hot swap the drives without losing the functionality of the share. Any ideas would be most welcome........

Have you been always hot swapping the drives or have you just started recently?

Yes we have always been hotswapping the drives and they are configured for quick removal. We have also tried safe removal and then reconection of a new drive but every time we get the same results?

Hi Roddy,

Did you figure this out yet?
