My RDP connections to a SMS2003 R2 Premium image (running in VMware Server) work just fine. I cannot, however, create a VPN connection to the same server over the same network configuration. I've checked the 3Com OfficeConnect firewall/router that's between the client and server and the usual ports that I'm aware of are open for VPN.  Any thoughts - beyond wondering why the environment is set up so oddly...

Got to admit I'm more on the appdev side of the box than the networking side so this is a little like debugging with no debugger (i.e. dialog boxes with variables displayed...;-).

Thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Did you figure this out yet?

Marina Roos Smallbizserver.Net AdministratorMission accomplished. We have joined the branch office to our SBS 2003 Headquarters and have the same user experience on the branch office as we have on our local  network at the Headquarters. Want to know how? Nope...I just gave up on it over time.  I'm waiting for the RTM 2008 bits to become available and plan to rebuild instead of migrate.  The only thing I'll have to migrate is the Exchange store and that should be easier than the complete migration scenario.

Thanks for asking though...;-)
