Maybe I've missed this information somewhere but I'd rather ask to be sure.

I'm doing a clean server installation with SBS2003R2 Standard.

WSUS 3.0 is obviously going to go on shortly. Do I bother with the R2 technologies? Sharepoint SP3 has gone on with the updates and I've done Exch SP2. Do I really want the R2 CD to put on WSUS 2.0 just so I can strip it off?

TIA

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Did you figure this out yet?

Marina Roos Smallbizserver.Net AdministratorMission accomplished. We have joined the branch office to our SBS 2003 Headquarters and have the same user experience on the branch office as we have on our local  network at the Headquarters. Want to know how? Hello Marina

On all the recent installs we've done we put the R2 technologies on and then let Microsoft update upgrade WSUS 2.0 to WSUS 3.0 SP1.

Seem a bit of a long winded way round but it works OK and that's what matters most.

Rather frustrating that a clean SBS2003 install to the server can take the best part of a day but when we start using SBS2008 that'll be different (until near the end of its lifespam I suppose!)

Cheers

Andrew
