Hi All,

Has anybody had the time to look into Outlook Voice Access (Unified Messaging) and how this is setup.

I saw a fancy demo when Exchange 2007 was launched and really wonder if this is going to be implemented in SBS2008.
Also, what (extra) hardware would be needed.

I don't see why it shouldn't be included as Outlook Voice Access is native to Exchange 2007 according to the white papers. With Exchange 2007 you can enable Unified Messaging within the GUI but i'm not sure about SBS 2008.

In regards to hardware you need an PBX (Analogue or IP). I have attached a more complicated hardware setup from msexchange.org below:

Hi Kieran,

I saw that 'manual' on technet and also I noticed the schematic.

So as far as I understand the UM server is included and part of in the Exhange 2007 server. Voice Access is just a feature like Mobile Acces or Webmail.
If this is true we will only need to buy an IP-PBX or IP-Gateway and reserve a telephone number on it for accessing the server.
Then this IP-PBX (or gateway) can be connected to the LAN switch, or do we need an extra LAN card in the server?

Nice technique, I am really going to play around with it.
Very fancy for a client demo.

Have a look at Microsoft Responce Point - they offer small-business VoIP PBX systems which are really easy to setup and administer.
