I have to ask this question because I really dont think that MS would be so dumb as to disable access to public folders using the exchange web client.

Is there a way (in the web client) that I can have my public folder sitting under my inbox just like when using outlook?
What sort of brain dead, half witted peanut would not of included this function in exchange web access?

I may of read this wrong http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb397221.aspx but Im pretty sure it says that in a pure ex2007 environment, public folders will not work in the web client!!

I can actually understand the thought process "gee that feature is really useful, lets remove it"
Also to add things I have learnt while installing and running ex2007

1) The production version will only work on a 64bit OS
2)You cannot run exchange 2007 on SBS 2003 because of above
3)The troubleshooting part of Exchange 2007 is very good
4)CRM 3.0 SB edition will not work on a server with Exchange 2007
5)Make sure if running ex2003 and ex2007 in the same environment that you install ex2003 prior to ex2007 because you cannot add an ex2003 server to an ex2007 domain (I learnt the hard way)
6) This is not strictly anything to do with ex2007 but its the vibe of the whole thing: Office Web Components are no longer available with office 2007

Well, we are using Office 2007 Enterprise with Exchange 2003 on SBS Premium 2003 R2.

Is your comment strickly related to Exchange 2007? Because when I log into my OWA I see a pretty much standard Outlook 2007 interface with some limitations, but the "Public Folders" tab is definitely down at the bottom there and we can get to our Public Folders fine.

My only beef is that once you go to the Public Folders it seems to be a pain to be able to get back to the Outlook Mail area, there's no easy back click to get you there that I can find, and sometimes I have to go all the way back out to get back in to the mail. But maybe that's just my problem.

Public Folders have been replaced by SharePoint Services in Exchange 2007 although you can still actually use them if you really want.

No worries about having to load your browser everytime you need to find a contact, you can simply create a shortcut within Outlook 2007 to the SQL database.

Cheers.

Kieran.
