I have succesfully created a VPN network between my HQ and my second office.

The pc's in the office connect, via a VPN IPsec connection on two Zyxel 652H routers, onto the outside NIC. All works well, the users can logon to the server but when they try to open any programs or documents on the server it all SLOWS down to a snails crawl.

A user tries to open a 32kb word document from server, that takes about 3 to 5 minutes.

The HQ has a 8 Mb down / 1Mb up line, the branch office a 2Mb down / 785Kb up ADSL line and that should be plenty as there are only 2 users in the branch office.

Has anybody got some advice before I go mad

Thanks

You could check the bandwidth management settings on both routers. I had an issue on my Vigor 2600V router when I enabled QoS, the whole net access slowed to a crawl. Switched QoS off & everythig was fine!
