We have roaming profiles set up on our users and sometimes when a user has deleted some files from his/her desktop, they come back after a while. I am assuming there is some sort of syncronisation taking place when a user logs off or shuts down and if they were to delete some files from their desktop while they are not on the network, then when they logged back on, those files would come back as the copy of their profile saved on the server would merge with the profile on their laptop. Is this a correct assumption.

Does anyone have any links to some good articles on roaming profiles?

Thanks.

The issue may clear up after you install User Profile Hive Cleanup Service.

Available from Microsoft download.

Hi Dennis,

Don't know about the Hive Clean solution, but have had similar problems with Roaming Profiles. If a user is logged in on more than one workstation at the same time, then the last logged out version of the desktop is what is saved (of course). So you might check out this aspect.

Allan

Also, do you have folder redirection enabled?
