Hello,

We are having some trouble accessing our webdav folder from a remote location.

I know of 2 ways of connecting to our webdav folder remotely:

1. Goto my network places > create a new network place > add the 'https://server_name_or_ip/webshare' url.
When i type in the secure connection 'https://' i immediately get an error saying 'The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another.'
When I type in the 'normal' connection 'http://', it takes a little while, then the same error msg appears.
It doesn't matter whether I use the server name or the ip address.

2. Open IE > click File > Open > input the url and check the checkbox to 'Open as a webfolder'.
When I use this method, a new window pops up telling me to choose a digital certificate. The list of certificates is empty however, and i can't get any further.

Perusing the web yields very little hard facts on how to actually set up WebDAV. I found a thread on this forum which mentions this link:
http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/WebDAV-IIS.html to be an excellent source for setting up WebDAV, which I followed, and ended up with the above mentioned results.

Can someone plz point me in the general direction of what to do next to solve this?

TIA, Olav.

Did you create a new site or did you create a virtual directory in the default web?
