Hi Guys

I have a fresh install of Windows 2003 SBS on a box and when it boots after setup (before it can finish the SBS setup) i atempt to login with the admin and password I have used during setup. I cannot login using this password. I have tried a repair and run through the setup again and put in a different password and still no joy.

I have activated the guest account and was able to promote the guest account to an admin and from there created another use and added that to the admin group and can log in and out no problems but cannot login using the built in administrator account. When I try and run the SBS setup wizard to finish the setup i get a message saying this can only be run by the biuilt in adminstrators account but I cant login as this admin.

I have tryied reseting the password on the built in admin account using the other admin account i have created but no joy.

I have done a full format of the machine and installed it fresh but the same thing happens. I dont understand this at all.

Any help on this woudl be greatly apriciated.

A very stressed Dashe

Hi Dashe,

So you are saying that after installing the first cd and your password wasn't working anymore? How could you have activated the guest account then?? Which is a very bad idea.
Please start all over again and don't do anything out of the ordinary.
