I have a client that is using Roaming profiles. They are getting large, yes a good chunk of music and theres no policy against it so we just deal with it.

I want to implement folder redirection to cut down on logon/logoff times and make the desktop/my docs in real time to the server since the workstations are getting old.

My question is do I just take the roaming profile path out of the users properties, it will load from a local cached profile, put in the GPO for folder redirection, and thats it?

I also may decide to leave the roaming profiles in place and add folder redirection, but from what I understand you dont want the redirected folders to live under the profile on the server. I would have to pull out the redirected folders to like D:\namespaces from D:\profiles for each user?

Also to keep in mind we have some Vista workstations and will be getter a lot more once this server is put in place. I have the GPO for vista clients to get the 10 folders redirected - seems to be working OK.

Any suggestions?
