Can anyone clarify for me please. I was following the "how to add an additional domain controller to remote office". The first step is to "Prepare Active Directory for R2 Domain Controller".
I have SBS 2003 Prem R2 DC, Win Serv. 2003 R2 applications server and now adding Win Ser. 2003 R2.

Using an OEM Win Server 2003 R2 disk attempted the adprep /forestprep, get the Win 2000 warning then c + Enter and get message that the AD is the same and doesn't need updating?

Would this be correct? Or am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help me as to how to verify that the AD is upto date?

Thanks in advance

If adprep /forestprep tells you that no update is needed, then your AD is up to date. Don't forget to run adpre/domainprep as well, but if /forestprep tells you it's already up to date, then /domainprep probably already is, too.
