Hi,
I am having difficulty in getting the "alert me" to work for my sharepoint service v.2. I just configured SMTP server settings on the sharepoint central administration page. When testing it to see if it works, i added a new item to Help Desk list but no email gets sent to me.
This is what i filled out
In the outbound SMTP server, i typed in xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (my mail server's IP address)
Character set: no change, same as default
and press OK
Does this problem have to do with exchange server? because it doesn't have exchange server installed on this server machine. Just wanna check with you.
