Hi,
I was wondering about installing a DotNetNuke based website on my SBS 2003 server Premium. Should I create a new database for it in the SHAREPOINT Sql instance, or create a new Sql instance for it, or use the default instance?
any suggestions either way?
Thanks, Ed

You don't need another instance for the Dotnetnuke database. It is perfectly fine to create a database in the Sharepoint instance for that. Do you know how to add a DNN site to your SBS? Do not install it in the default web but create a new web!

Thanks Mariette, I'll give it a go (and use a new website).

Another question(s). Looks like I installed a default instance of Sql server during the premuim installation. Do you think I should remove it, since running multiple instances is supposed to consume too much resources? Or just stop it?
Would it be useful to keep the default, in case I create any other databases? Or just use the Sharepoint instance for everything? There's probably nothing special about the Sharepoint instance except its name, is there?

Ed
