Hi all,
I just finished installing and confiugring SBS 2003 w/SP1, and Exchange SP2 no a selerate network.

We already have SQL on our exsiting network and has all the database that we use. is there a way to direct all the connections that SBS uses to that SQL after join it to the SBS network?

and i'm thinking to implement CRM 3.0 (for small business) on the SBS network, so i want CRM also to point to the seperate SQL machine.

Thanks.

What do you mean with 'all the connections that SBS uses'?

OK, I understand. Sure, you can move those instances to another server if you want but I would not put them in the same instance as your CRM

OK, so i can redirect the instances to a single sql server pointing to different databases. is there any tutorial of how to do this?
now, what about CRM for small business, is it going to work with the standard edition?

My boss just told me that becuase we are MS certified partener, we have 25 licenses for the premuim edtion, not the standrad, if that is the case, is there a way just to upgrade it to Premium?

thanks alot for your help

More information on moving databases can be found in this document http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sbs/2003/maintain/movedata.mspx. I doubt there is difference in how many licenses you have but upgrading to premium is always a good idea because of ISA 2004 and full blown SQL instead of only MSDE instances.

Hey Mariette,
I was looking at the document that you told me to look at, it doesn't say that i have to create a database on a SQL server... it jsut mentioned that to move it to another folder!!!

So let me clarify what i'm trying to do, We have SBS 2003 standard, it has MSDE installed on it, and as far as i know the MSDE db can hold up to 2GB. To avoid that, i'm thinking "if it is possible" to move the databases to a full blown sql server that can hold alot more than 2GB.

Is it possible, if yes, how can i do it, or is there a tutorial of how to do it?

Thanks.

Rami
