Perhaps this question has been asked, however I did try and search for an answer before posting this question.

What options are available to customers who have SBS 2003 standard but now have a requirement for SQL server?
Is difficult or next to impossible to obtain SQL server 2000 through retail or reseller channels, everyone is now selling SQL server 2005 which I understand is not reccommended or supported yet under SBS 2003, so what can I do?

Thanks

AM

You should just be able to upgrade from SBS 2003 Std to SBS 2003 Premium.  It's still packaged with the supported version.

according to my VAR there is no upgrade, or if there is it is quite expensive and involves upgrading the CALS as well.

You can certainly purchase an upgrade to SBS Premium and you do not have to upgrade the CALS.

As an example T75-00754 is the retail box upgrade from Std to Prem.
