Good morning ... I hope someone will be able to help on this one.

Ever since SBS 2003 Prem. was installed in Dec last year I have not been able to successfully start SQL services. When I click the START button in SQL service manager I get a 1069 error - The service did not start due to a logon failure.

Any suggestions as to why?

James

Just adding some information after reading another thread - I performed a search for sqlservr.exe and determined that the version is 2000.80.760.0

There were four references to sqlservr

... \MSSQL$MONITORING
... \MSSQL$SHAREPOINT
... \MSSQL\Binn
D:\ClientApps\BusinessContactManager\x86\Binn
... \Monitoring\MSDE\Setup\sqlrun.cab

Not sure if this helps

You need to check credentials on these service:

Be sure that they are set to local system.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't know how to get to the screen you are referring to. Could you please briefly explain how to access these properties?

Thanks

James

Hi James,

Go to the Services applet in the Administrative Tools. Right click the service and choose properties.

That did the trick!

Thank you for that.
