Hi there,

a client of mine wants a ASP website with a SQL Server. Instead of using win2003 and sql2005, I was thinking of installing SBS 2003 Premium, which includes a SQL Server 2000. The 2000 version will be sufficient for the standard, straight-forward ASP pages.

But I was wondering, are there any limititations to this SBS-SQL Version (like database can be no larger than 2 Gb or something like that) or to IIS running on an SBS for that matter?

Thanks for any reply.

Cees

There are no limitations. Only if your asp site wants to authenticate with the AD it is 75.

With AD you mean the Active Directory? Authentication is done via SQL Server table, so that wouldn't be a problem, would it?

Thanks for the superfast reply, by the way!!

There has been a lot of debate going on if authentication by SQL is not a violation of the EULA. To be honest I don't know. This site runs also on a SBS 2003 and with almost 12,000 (did delete a lot of bogus users last week) I would violate the EULA to. If that is the case I invite Microsoft to explain it...
