I have had these errors ever since a medical software company had installed there software on a brand new dell poweredge server that had sbs preinstalled.  The program that was installed is a web based .net / sql program.  What I think may have happened is that when installing the software, the vendor also installed SQL 2000 ( Another version which probobly came with the software).  Ever since, my sbs monitoring doesn't work as well as I get sharepoint database errors.

Some bg info, I have two directories (Im not sure if this is correct).
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server SP4\
-Are these two seperate version of SQL?

Now, in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\, I see teh sub dir MSSQL$SBSMonitoring and MSSQL$SHAREPOINT.

Im guessing the SP4 is the one that was installed with the medical software.

Can someone tell me how I can get my Monitoring to work again, as well as SHAREPOINT?

Having 2 installations of SQL server will not by itself break anything.  However, if they did install a new instance of SQL they may have installed an update that wasn't the right one.  If they installed a Service Pack that wasn't designed to be installed on SBS for their enterprise version, then it will by default install on the original installation.  There's an easy way to test this.  Open up SQL Query Analyzer and run the following command:

Select @@Version

This will produce a grid that has your entire version string information.  The last part will show you the version number.  Copy the results here so we can see what it is.

*EDIT*  Oh yeah...connect to both databases and copy the results for both seperately

The Microsoft SQL Server SP4 is the result of the SBS 2003 SP1. It has 2 folders, MSDE and WMSDE and is meant for updating the Desktop Engine versions with SP4.

Marina Roos Smallbizserver.Net AdministratorMission accomplished. We have joined the branch office to our SBS 2003 Headquarters and have the same user experience on the branch office as we have on our local  network at the Headquarters. Want to know how? Just an update.. the guys that installed the software are looking into this, they have now disabled some how the msde, so I can't get into the database to do an query analysis.  I will update asap.
