Hi,

I have installed the DUTCH SBS 2003 premium edition and ran into this little problem.

Installing a New SQL Server 2000 instance went smooth without any problems.

Installed Service Pack 3a from CD, also went smooth.

After this I upgraded SharePoint to use SQL Server 2000 also went smooth.

Then I try to install the SP3a and get the message "This Service Pack is meant for a different language than your installed product"

I'm new to SQL and spend a lot of time searching for a solution to this problem, didn't find one.

BTW I have read the installation instructions on the CD.

The problem is with, what I understand the Collation Settings.
In the Language Settings Dutch of the SBS 2003 Dutch is the language.

I know somebody had the same problem, please help me solve this annoying MS thing.

Hi Franklin,

There should be links in those readme's that are pointing to Download details: Upgrading the instance of WMSDE used for Windows SharePoint Services (Dutch, Portuguese (Brazil), and Swedish):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A1876820-0154-44F9-A570-A6E1FDBF995E&displaylang=en
Is this with SP1 integrated media?

Hi Marina,

Searched for it on Technet didn't find this article, thanks for pointing it out.

Other question related to this?

If I install SBS 2003 premium without SP1 must I install ISA Server & SQL Server 2000 or can I leave this and install SP1 & then install ISA 2004 & SQL Server 200.
I read that ISA Server 2004 is better to install after SP1.
About SQL Server 2000 & SP4 can't find anything.

Hi Franklin,

No, you don't have to install ISA and SQL first to apply SBS 2003 SP1. You can only install ISA 2004 if you have installed SBS 2003 SP1 though. Did  you have a look at our SP1 document: http://www.smallbizserver.net/Default.aspx?tabid=266&ArticleType=ArticleView&ArticleID=68&PageID=70

Hi Marina,

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
The problem with SQL 2000 & SharePoint is solved, everything is going smoothly now.

Did a new installation of SBS 2003 without SQL 2000 Server & ISA 2000 Server.
Installed SP1 and afterwards SQL 2000 Server & ISA 2004 Server.

Everything runs fine and fast and there was one thing that was bothering me.
How can it be that with this installation method I use 1 GB less memory.

To be a newby on SBS 2003 is like first time swimming and if you like it you're addicted.
I'm playing with SBS 2003 for two weeks now (day & night) and can stop anymore.
Like it so much that I'm thinking the whole day about the possibilities and how to make it work for my company.
It's your fault that this is happening to me (it's a compliment to you and all the others here on smallbizserver.net)

Thanks for the support.

Hi Franklin,

Great news! Keep on playing  I don't understand what you mean with using 1 Gb less memory though?

Hi Marina,

I mean Internal Memory (Physical).

The first time I installed SBS 2003 incl. SQL 2000 server & ISA 2000 server it used more than 2.2 GB of Internal Memory.
This was without the Page File but pure the fhysical memory.

I have installed it now in the following order.

yes - SBS 2003 Premium
no - SQL 2000 Server
no - ISA 2000 Server
no - Windows Updates
yes - SBS 2003 Premium SP1
yes - SQL 2000 Server with SP4
yes - ISA 2004 Server
yes - Installes all the other updates & SP's

The use of memory hungry MS applics is now 1.2 GB Internal Memory.
I saw that SQL & ISA use a lot less memory to run.

Everything runs the same, I have not yet noticed any problems except with the DNS server (see attachement).
I have this corrected with the DHCP server settings and it runs like a Bugatti Veyron on steroids.
I mean the SBS 2003 Server

Hope you have enough info now
