I have a new SBS 2003 Prem installation.  I installed SQL2000 as an upgrade to the SHAREPOINT instance (no other instances of SQL).  That went well.  Then went to perform the SP3 install as directed and the installation kept dying when it wanted to validate authority... 

Ring any bells? 
 
Does SBS SP1 include/address any SQL compnents/issues?  Can I back out SQL2000 and just roll forward with the SBS SP1 updates?

Try a reboot. SBS SP1 does include SP4 for SQL, so you could also skip this now if you have the Premium SP1 cd and go for that.
