Hi I am trying to create a full text search on an SQL 2000 SP4 database

When i try and create it I am getting " The Microsoft Search service cannot be administered under the
present user account." error message.

I Googled this and found a number or article, mostly saying that it is necessary to have both the SQL and MS Search Log on using the same account, so I have changed them both to me (I have admin rights)

I also read a post about running  - ftsetup.exe sqlserver 0 1 0 0 0 4  - but that has not made any difference and returns an error code 0x0.

I have also re-registered sqlfth75.dll which registered but did not change the problem.

All of the above have been liberally sprinkled with stop and starts of both MSSearch and SQL Services.

Has anyone any ideas please where the issue could be please.

In case it is of importance, we did have some issues where MS Search would not start, and this was traced to a missing registry entry pointing MS Search to where the files were.  Once this was added in, we had not problems in  starting MS Search.

thanks
Alex
