We have a new application that uses MSDE recently installed on a number of workstations without problem.
Users at our remote branches work solely on our Terminal Server (W2003 R2) so I installed it on the TS and it appeared to work OK until I logged on as a user without Admin rights. It says Access is denied.

Created a new group, placed the user in it and gave full rights to the databases and the app’s folder under Program Files. No luck even after removing the terminal server lockdown policy.

Checked by logging on to a workstation as a user without admin rights and the app works OK there.

Please, what else should I be doing to get the app to work on the TS?

I would say putting a disk/cpu intensive application on a terminal server would be a not so smart plan.
It wouldn't surprise me that alll users of the server will experience degraded performance.
But have you tried to look with tools such as Process Monitor from Microsoft where the problem occurs?

Hi Jake
Thanks for that, ran Process Monitor and it showed that the errors occurred when accessing the registry. Gave the test user admin rights to the TS, logged on once successfully, removed the admin rights but then could not logon successfully.

Seems the app won't be successful on the TS.

BTW, the TS has 16 people working away at the moment and it is still beautifully responsive.

Thanks again
