when I attempt to run the mmc for SQL 2000, I get the message "mmc could not create the snap-in".  SQL 2000 seems to be operating properly, as I have MS-CRM 3.0 SBE loaded and working.  I would like to know what caused it to stop working.  Fortunately, the SQL 2000 backups are running regularly, and my inclination is to just re-install it.

I looked for the repair option in Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and selected Microsoft SQL Server 2000.   The Change/Remove button only provided Yes/No to the question, "Are you sure you want to completely remove Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and all of its components?  I chose 'No'.  What next?  Where is the Repair option for Microsoft SQL Server 2000.  I found something related to database repair, but the databases are all working, it is the mmc that is broken.
