Hi.

On the home stretch with my first swing, from a Svr2000 +Exch2000 to SBS2003R2. Ran into some trouble during reconnecting the mailboxes to user accounts.

I needed to use LegacyDN to align the Org name before the stores would mount.

During the process of searching the AD for mail enabled users and deleting the links the wizard returned  Success: 0 Failed: 0 Warnings: 22.. and gave me an xml log.

When I attempt to re-connect a user to their mailbox I can't find any users in the browse/search window..yet if I look separately in AD users/Computers all users are present, and are valid [can log in etc]

I played around and noticed that the AD search for mail enabled users still listed all users, but now without the option to delete mailboxes, just showing "Exchange Attributes"

I deleted the attributes for two users and successfully reconnected their mailboxes, sent test mail and all seems to be Ok initially.

I don't understand the issue, and if there will be any impact doing this for all users.

I did notice that users email addresses are deleted by this process, but are returned when the Recipient Policy is applied.

After plenty of searching for the specific text in the error returned by the wizard I wondered if it may be permission issues. Have re-checked those and believe they are fine.

Any thoughts.

Try checking the inegrity of the Exchange Store.
Run ESEUTIL - http://computerperformance.co.uk/exchange2003/exchange2003_eseutil.htm

What I usually do is shut down the exchange store properly (clean shutdown).
Then just copy the files across to the new server.
Enable the This database can be overwritten by a restore tick.
Remove the existing new Exchange store files, and put the old ones in place.
For Exchange 2000, you will probably have to run an Integrity check and Repair using eseutil.
Then mount the stores.

Hi Andrew,

Assuming you are using the Swing It from Jeff, did you contact him?
