I have a NT 4.0 Server with about six 98 workstations.

The NT 4.0 is getting replaced with SBS2k3 and the 98 with XP. However I have stuff in the Calendar that I do not need to lose. Very important information. Some info in email although not that much.

What is the best thing to do here. Should I swing it or is there a better and faster way to move the data out and just setup a new network?

Thanks, Shane

The benefits of a swing migration are targeted toward preserving your Active Directory while moving from one server to another. You basically enjoy the option of setting up the new server offline. Then when you are sure you have it like you want it, you simply move the cables from the old server to the new server. There are no steps in a swing migration aimed at saving Calendar data. But prepping your new server offline gives you the option of trying several methods before going live.

Hi Shane,

Is that in a public folder?

Hi Shane,

If you would swing the box, you don't have a problem getting that information. Public folders can't be exmerged, so you will have to copy the information to a mailbox, then export that mailbox and import it in the new store if you don't use swing.
