SonicWall devices can do this if they are running the enhanced OS. They have a feature called 'Guest Services' which works just as you say. The user conencts to the WLAN, but before connecting to the internet, they would need to enter a password. Also the WLAN can be secured from the LAN so it's a completely separate network. Also, the WAPs can be managed from the sonicwall itself (if you are using SonicPoint APs).

wouldn't this be as easy as simply putting another wireless broadband router on your lan?

eg:

your lan is 192.168.0.x
router is 1, server is 2, etc

get another broadband router, make it:

192.168.1.1 and its gateway (wan side) 192.168.0.1 (your lan router)

this will work fine

then enable authentication on the wireless

job done!

OK, its a lot less complicated than what you wanted, but its easy and the guests will have no lan access, and they will have internet, and they will need to authenticate (ising WEP or WPA). You could change the wireless password once a week perhaps.
