Hello, I am getting error when trying to connect to one of the Clients through the RWW, "please make sure the client is connected to domain". Yet the client is connected, and from the client you can see the server Great. But from the Server, in the MyNetwork Places, you can not see the Client. I am using 2 Nics ( on the Server), and a Router. I have turned off Windows Firewall. I have added the client to the Routers DMZ, Still can not see the Client from the Server, but from the Client can see Server Great.  I understand these may be separate issues. Can someone please help? thank you!

Did you enable Remote Desktop on the client?

  1. Right click My Computer, choose Properties
  2. Choose Tab Remote and check "Allow users to connect..."

Hi Clay,

Do not turn off the XP firewall. Post the ipconfig/all from the server and the client. Do not add the client to the router DMZ. Did you add the computer with the add computer wizard?

Hello,   I have added users to the allow users to Remote, and the check box is enabled for remote access. Still can not connect using RWW. My thought are is the SBS using different or additional ports besides 3389, however, if that is the case. Then the one workstation I have in the routers DMZ would connect, yet it still will not connect using RWW. Thank You for your help.

Hi Clay,

You didn't answer my other questions. If you can't connect with RWW from inside your LAN, it is no use trying it from outside. Make sure you have run servername/connectcomputer on the workstations. Make sure you have run CEICW and enabled RWW. Do you have Standard or Premium? Can you post the ipconfig/all from the server and a client?

Hi,
I have ran the CEICW from the workstations, they connected great. To finish answering your questions, thank you!

Server Side:
Lan Nic:
Primary dns suffix.... Company.local
IP address...... 192.168.16.2, Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway......... none
NetBios over TCP/IP....   Disabled

Network NIC:
DHCP: enabled
IP address: 67.223.117.95
Subnet Mask:  255.255.255.0
Gateway: 67.223.117.1

WorkStation:
DHCP enabled
IP address.....10.10.32.100
net mask......255.255.255.0
gateway.......192.168.16.20
DNS.............19.168.16.2

I hope this helps some.
The Router is assigned the IP address from the server of 192.168.16.20
I have set the router up to assign Address 10.10.32.100/ 200
All the workstations are assigned the DNS of the Nic at the Router, as well as the router having the DNS of the Server, 192.168.16.2

Please bare with me, if this is not answering your ?'s,    thank you!

Hi Clay,

Your network config is totally wrong. Check this out:
Two Nics, a static IP address, ISA, no router:
/Network/TwoNicsastaticIPaddressISAnorouter/tabid/155/Default.aspx

Also the DHCP server config is not good at all. Please post the **complete** output of the ipconfig/all when you have changed it. (ipconfig/all>ip.txt and post the ip.txt here)
