Hi,...

We are rolling out two new workstations for our SBS server to store personelle.   The store/workshop personelle have never had workstation access before (management here are in the dark ages!)... and needless to say, management are still very guarded about what they can and cannot do.

I have been asked to give them basically access to internal email only.  (there are some files they will open in certain applications but I can configure that easily enough!).  THe access to Exchange is where I am a little unsure.

Can I give a user internal email only through Exchange,...  and how?!?

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

From a public newsgroup posting by Javier:

To restrict a certain group of users from RECEIVING mail...

1) If you are using the POP3 connector with individual accounts... you don't have to do anything to restrict them from receiving mail. Just don't add them to the list.
2) If you are using a global POP3 account... then delete the .com (FQDN) account in the user SMTP addresses.

To restrict a certain group of users from SENDING mail to the internet...

1) Create a security group for those users (or you can create a group of users that you want to be able to send mail).
2) Open the SMTP connector, go to the Delivery Restriction tab and add the group to the appropiate box (depending on what you choose in #1).
3) You have to do this in order for it to work: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=277872
