Hi, how do I check if Update services is working on SBS 2003 R2? I can see a list of downloaded patches which all have Scheduled under the Status Tab and no client PCs seem to be able to download and run the updates from the server. When I check the Windows update services manually from each client I can see all the updated listed on the server showing they need to be downloaded and installed.

What is the procedure for checking if each client is actually querying and getting the updates from the server?

thanks

It should appear in the taskbar on the clients. What do you see when you run a rsop on that client? Are the policies in place?

The policies are setup on the server and are enabled for all clients. What do I check for when I run RSOP on the clients?

Just run rsop.msc on a client and check if the policies are applied.

Thanks Mariette, they seem to be applied now even though before they weren't. All works good now.

Milos,

Yes, it can sometimes take awhile before something happens. Good to hear it works for you.
