Hi there,

One of my customers somtimes has the following issue:

User ONE opens a Word/Excel 2003 file on a network share and starts working on it.
Then user TWO opens the same file from the network and does NOT receive the "The document file name is locked for editing by another user ..." what he/she normally does receive ...

This happens about 10% of the time. All other times the message appears and proper ation can be taken.

Does anyone has any idea what can cause this behaviour and, most important, how to prevent this situation.
Could not find any info with Google ...

Thanx on beforhand.

Jacques.

Hi Marina,

No, no success / solution yet. And I must admit that the problem does not occurs that much anymore. The customer can live with it.

I've been searching and it turned out that the problem might be in Office. I'm not sure anymore what could cause the poblem and how to get rid of it.

So I can't be of any help in the case you might have the same issue ...

Regards,
Jacques.
