I have a user with an HTC 6800 smartphone with Windows Mobile. Every time he connects his phone to the cradle, it synchs and then the computer goes ofline from the network. He can synchronize his computer to the network and everything is fine. Any idea why the network connection would go offline after ActiveSync has been run?

I originally had him connected to synch email via his cradle, but have since set him up so that he synchs directly from the Exchange Server. He still has the problem either way it is set up.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you!

Marina,

I have not figured this one out yet. I haven't had any replies on any of the other forums that I've posted on either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Hi Hal,

I have never heard about this problem. Is it only happening on his computer, or does it happen when it is connected to another computer as well?

It is only happening on his computer. He is the only person with a smartphone running Windows Mobile on our network. (It's his personal phone.) I have not connected it to another computer because if he is not here, he has the phone, and when he is here, there's not much of an opportunity to get the phone and cradle to try it on another computer.

I can try to work with him and see if I can get the phone and cradle at some point, but the computers that I have to test it with aren't quite in the same class as the one that he has. I'll let you know what happens if I can get the phone and cradle any time soon.

His computer is up to date on Windows updates for XP SP2, but I haven't loaded XP SP3 on it yet.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Thank you,

Hal
