Hi

I'm setting up a clean new SBS2003 machine and found issues getting the GPO's, namely the Folder Redirection one I created to apply.  Checking the client's Event's log it appears the issues is an Event 1054

"The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not obtain the name of a domain controller. This could be caused by a name resolution failure. Verify your Domain Name System (DNS) is configured and working correctly."

I am currently setting up/testing this at home so have ensured DHCP is disabled on my router, the DHCP is activing and operating on the Server.   Checking the settings handed out to the clients, the DNS server the client is pointed to is the SBS machine.   The GPO's apply fine within the SBS box it self, just not from the clients.   Client logons take about 30 seconds, obviously as its trying to discover the DC.

Is there something I am missing.?

What processor is in the server? AMD processors sometime need a driver installed/updated for full compatability.
Have you upgraded the nic drivers on both the server and workstations?
Thanks
David
PS how is the client setup to get their IP address, could you forward an IPConfig /all from both the server and workstation?
