Subject: Infamous Outlook "can't create ..." is there a fix

In Outlook 2003, after a particular type of attachment is opened 100 times the error "can't create file:..." is returned.
 
You must find the hidden temp directory for Outlook with regedit and then delete the 100 temp files matching the error causing file.
 
 You look like a hero!
 
Then you wait until the user opens 100 more attachments and you do it all over again!
 
Has anyone found an answer to this?

Someone created a batch file to automate this. Maybe it will help. Bottom of this post ~

The problem only happens if a user opens 100 attachments with the same name.
This happens in our case as the scanner names each attachment the same.
 
Have a scheduled batch file delete all of this type of temp file in all the users Outlook temp directory early the morning.
 
 cd \Documents and Settings\
del image*.tif /s
