Users are reporting that upon logon, they are getting two IE windows popping up, both referencing http://homedir.cmd/ in the address bar, and a blank window. They report being able to close the windows, will no ill effects, but have complained about the annoyance.

I assumed this was because of a logon script from \\servername\sysvol, which I have since pared down to just this:

call net time \\servername /set /yes

[where servername=the actual server name]

I have also disabled the Redirect My Documents GPO, thinking that was part of the issue.

gpudate /force on clients and server has not corrected the issue, nor has rebooting client machines worked.

What might I be missing here?

Hi Dawn,

Can you check the GPO's to see if there is some other script being run at logon? The command doesn't ring any bells with me at all.

Hi Marina,

Upon further investigation, I do have a GPO named Company that contains a login script with a reference to homedir.cmd, as follows:
homedir.cmd net use Z: \\servername\users\%username%.

Initially, I was reluctant to mess with this GPO because it dated to my intial SBS install, and I thought perhaps that it was a default group policy. I did not see it referenced in Eriq Neale's SBS book, so I went ahead and deleted the script, and now users are not getting the window - and are still getting the mapped home directory.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
