Situation: small office using a XP Pro machine to share files a Mirra sync process.  Has been setup for years with no issues.

Added new XP computer, things worked fine.

Suddenly all of the files in this shared folder were deleted.  Logs show from this newer computer.  This is a shortcoming of using a Mirra to sync a folder.

We then setup a new folder that the Mirra will backup on the fly.  For 8 computers all is well, for this 9th, not so much.

Initially after this setup, the last 1% of file transfer via windows explorer froze and never completed.  Through various setting changes that has been fixed.

The issue now lives in applications.  A word doc can be opened fine, but saving locks the system.

Any shots in the dark on the issue?

Thanks,

Yes, Mirra is a backup device that typically works quite well.

Anyhow, we reinstalled windows on the offending maching and all is well.
