I've got an SBS 2003 Exchange Server that I'm trying to connect a Windows Mobile 6.1 unit to. I've tried the different domains I have for the server - company name. com, servername.companyname.com and .local, even the server address. Nothing seems to connect and the support code - 0x80072F17 - seems to have something to do with security and certificates, but I can't come across anything that gives me any detailed information on the code. I have a computer at my home office that I have set up to connect to Exchange for Outlook and have tried the domains that I entered in there. I can use RWA from the smartphone, so I know it can connect to the server. What settings should I be using?

Depending on what model of phone you have, you may need to purchase a 3rd Party SSL Certificate to achieve this. Some phones (for example the HTC ones we use) wont accept or allow you to manually import a certificate.

In some ways in my own opinion getting 3rd Part Cert for a CA is perhaps the tidiest as you dont need to mess about with the phone.
