OK, so this is a long-shot, but maybe this will trigger an idea with someone...
I've got an entirely new network for my office. A new Mac Pro running Leopard (10.5.2). A new SBS 2003 Premium SP2 box. A new Airport Extreme router. A new NetGear switch. You name it, it's new.
Here's the issue. I'm having a problem with the Mac losing connectivity to the Network Share folders on the SBS. When it happens, it's so bad that not only does the Mac lose the ability to view the shared folder, but no other computer on the network can access them either -- even Windows machines. It's like something on the SBS crashes and the only way to get it running again is to reboot the SBS.
So, this could be a Mac issue, it could be a SBS issue, or it could be something in the interaction between the two.
Now, here's where it gets tricky. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that every time this has happened, I've been running VMWare Fusion with Vista installed, and it's actually Vista that's accessing the shared folders at the time, not the Mac.
The reason I suspect this is that I've had days where I work in just Leopard all day, and have no issue. I've had several hours where I work in XP under VMWare Fusion and have no problem. Then I start up Vista under VMWare, and Kaboom! This problem strikes.
I know this is a long shot, but has anyone out there seen this? Does anyone have a suggestion on what I might be able to do to prevent it?
Thanks in advance for your help!
