Hi M&M,
Question is about login: I have to login everytime I come to your site. Is this normal or is there a glitch a my location? Please advice in this.
Regards,
Jacques.

We are looking into this. Last week we upgraded to version 4.3.1 and new security related stuff has been introduced. Your question does not really belong in the Remote Support forum, I will move your question to the FAQ forum for this site.

Can you describe the behavior more precise? I don't have this. How long are you away from the site if this happens? If you login and check remember login, close the browser and open the site again then you should be logged in. If you come back the next day you will need to login again.

Hi Mariëtte,
Thanx for the reply; it seems indeed to be the issue "next day".
Previously (I guess before moving your server to the datacenter) you were always logged-on after ticking the remember password. Now it's gone after a while.
Can't you make it "last longer" ....
Thanx,
Jacques.

No, it changed behavior after upgrading to 4.3.x. It has nothing to do with the new server at XS4ALL. Cookies expire after an hour. I can make that 2 hours? Is that better?

If I may say ... make it one day at least.
So when during the day when I return I don't have to retype the user/pasww combi.
Next day again - I can live with that.
But if security is decreasing significantly with this ...... don't do it. But the use of the site will be less friendly ... balancing all the time ....
Thanx,
Jacques.

It seems a good idea to make it 8 hours or something around that value. Before I change that I have to do some thinking about the security implications about this. You are aware that if you leave your desktop open anybody that uses that desktop can logon to the site.
BTW, you can instruct Internet Explorer and Firefox to remember usernames and passwords for you. If you click in the username box when you try to logon to the site the browsers should give you a list to choose from. That saves you from typing usernames and password.

Well, keep thinking (not to long ...)
8 hours sounds good to me but 12 might be better.
And I'll never use the store username/password manager from the broswer. Everyone can allways login to everything you visit ... talking about security.
Regards,
Jacques.

Legal stuff....If I set cookies for a very long time or indefinite I could get into problems because of that. If you decide to store credentials so that it is easy for you to logon any site it is your responsibility. Default expiry time for cookies is 30 minutes at most sites. I have set it to 2 hours now, that is some improvement but I will not set it to any longer.

Fine with me.
Since it is legal stuff: stick to the rules.
Thanx anyway for the information.
Jacques.
