I have had a look on the site but cannot see anything on how to close a post that I have open, unless I cannot see for looking if you know what I mean?

Thanks for a great site.

Keep up the good work.

Richard,

I do not understand your question...

Some forums give the original user the ability to "close" the post when their questions have been answered. Which works out great so that people don't try to keep continuing with the same post. AUGI has one that is called "The longest Post Ever" that is 60 or so pages spanning about 4 years.

OK, that is similar to the Moderators options we have. In version 3.8 I will change some of the forum behaviour for normal users and this maybe one of the options

Is that a good idea, to close a thread? What if someone finds a solution and closes a thread, but someone else sees the thread and wants to post a more informative solution. Or maybe wants to post a message clarifying the solution. I think it is kinda goofy when ppl post message to threads that are 2 years old, but occasionally interesting nuggets show up on old threads..

Stan,

Thanks. So many people, too many opinions :-) I have to think about this and I tend to agree with you.

I was thinking more along the lines that the person who opened the post is the only one who can close it. But hey what ever works is fine with me, just thought it may be a good idea, understand all opinions........

As far as I am concerned this issue is closed......

cheers.
