We have our own domain hosted by Cable Inet. We set up Exchange with enabled mailboxes "Alan", "Roger", etc. as well as "Administrator" and arranged all "undeliverable" emails to go to "Alan". While emails to alan@datarecruit.com, roger@datarecruit.com, etc. were received, the "undeliverables" were rejected.  We realised there was a problem because of the greatly reduced number of incoming emails. To avoid losing important emails, we've added rules to accept emails with vowels in the "To" or "c.c." box but this has resulted in emails to Roger, Jenny going to me!  A priority issue??  Anyway, and in parallel, we have another email address datarecruit@btclick.com which is not an enabled mailbox but in the absense of the vowel "cheat", emails to this address correctly go to the mailbox according to the undeliverable rule. Finally, at Cable Inet who host our emails, their system works by accepting anything@datarecruit.com and re-directing emails to us. In parallel, we have an email address at Cable Inet called datarecruit@blueyonder.co.uk and emails sent to this "undeliverable" address also work correctly. I have asked Cable Inet to investigate in case their re-direct system is preventing our Exchange's CDO from working. All emails are going into the Incoming EMails box then to the Pickup box but the "undeliverable" emails are not having their headers changed and are being lost when the SMTP tries to service them.

Kind regards

Hi Alan,

Sorry for the big delay in answering you. Are you using POP3 or SMTP to retrieve mail?

Marina

Thanks for the response. We're using POP3. Our ISP provides a dynamic IP address.

Kind regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Any chance of switching to SMTP, as that will give you much less headaches?
