I have been trying for several weeks to get a new TREO 650 (Cingular Wireless) to connect to our Exchange 2003 Server. I've been through the configuration now many times and everything seems correct yet I cannot login to the server to SYNC with the Versa Mail Client. I get the following message: "Signing On" then "Canceling" then Problem Syncing Messages 7143"
This has never worked and this is the first TREO we are trying. Cingular suggests using POP3 or MAPI neither of which I want to do for various well documented reasons. The reason we chose this device is that it is purported to work seamlessly with Exchange ActiveSync.
I am able to browse the internet with the device so the data settings for GPRS seem to be correct but I cannot access the server. We have a single SBS2003 server which also acts as our firewall. Since the TREO uses SSL encryption I've confirmed that port 443 is listening and that Mobile Services and Exchange ActiveSync are enabled in System Manager. Also that this user has permission to use this resource. Still no luck. Has anyone had a positive experience with this and where do you need to deviate from the instructions from PALM?
