I've been using SBS for a few years now with POP3 downloading (for greater infrastructure reliability for incoming mail) and using the SMTP virtual server to send mail out.  We gradually are getting e-mails rejected because our IP is on a blacklist (static IP but from a large ISP's allocation).  Getting it taken off the blacklist will probably be impossible so I'm trying to work around this but I'm not sure how.

I thought about a smarthost - I got an smtp server address, username and password from my ISP but the mails get sent back with my IP address is on a blacklist error message - please help!  Thanks.

Hi Kenny,

You are probably using DNS to send email now. Change it to smarthost, and the smarthost is the mail server of the ISP from which you get the internet connection.
