First off let me say that I have configured my Treo 700w to send and receive email thru my SMB2003 exchange server. I can get it to connect, sync, etc flawlessly. The only problem is the PUSH technology thru SMS that is inconsistent. I have it set to receive messages as they arrive, and to do so you simply set the SMS address for the Exchange server to send a email to when a message arrives. Since I am on verizon, the address is 10digit@vtext.com. I can test this by sending a email to this address and whala, its on my phone.
So after I set this up, sync'd the activesync to set the exchange server, it worked without a problem for the first few hours. I could see in the queue that a connector to vtext.com was established each time my mailbox recieved a email. That email, im unsure of the contents but is sent to my phone SMS address, and triggers it to go outbound and resync. Talk about awesome technology! However, this morning I noticed I haved received a sync in over 6 hrs. So i did it manually and my mail arrived. I sent a few messages to myself to notice they are arriving in my box, but the connector to vtext.com in the queue is not being created. However, if I send to my 10digit@vtext.com account, the connector gets established. Any suggestions why its not doing it automatically anymore and only when I personally send to that address? Any experts...I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!
