I'm not at all surprised that there is little on the web about Outlook 2003 Rules - they are too simple to want to write about.
However, I am trying to develop a rule (or a set of rules) that will forward a message based on text in the subject line, then delete it. Should be simple...
My client was annoyed that the deleted message doesn't show the little arrow icon on it (looking later in the Deleted Items folder) that indicates it's been forwarded. I told him I suspected that Outlook 2003 may not do that (he insists that Outlook 2000 did), but that I would look into it.
I created a simple rule that checked for a word in the subject line, and if found, forward the message to my home email and then delete it. I would look at the result, and then see what I could do to make sure the little arrow was there. Well, I can't even get that simple rule to work, so I tried to just forward it - no deletion. Still doesn't work! Grrrrr!
I tried creating a contact and using that, then tried just typing in my email address. It just don't work!!
How hard can it be?
Can anyone help?
Thanks, as always...
