I have a client who is experiencing an error 8331 with msexchangeal exactly every 10 minutes. We applied Exchange SP1 in an attempt to fix this problem but it had no effect. Most posts dealing with this issue date from approximately 1 year ago and recommend SP1 as the solution. Are there any other ideas out there?

Luckily, the client is not yet using Exchange so the impact is not great. It is a problem that needs to be addressed before they begin utilizing Exchange.

Thanks for the help.

I would not wait using Exchange because this error does not do anything. What do you mean by not using? Did you disable services or whatever?

At this time, the client has no connections to the Exchange Server. No one is using any feature of Exchange. The database is empty.

OK, if you need Exchange start using it. The error does not mean a lot and I guess that if you run the CEIW and create mailboxes it will go away. This is what I have seen on other machines.

Have a great weekend!
